Gonzaga Loses Decision at UFC 121

Gabriel Gonzaga dropped a tough decision to up and coming heavyweight Brendan Schaub at UFC 121 this weekend in Anaheim, California. Gonzaga was never able to get the fight to the ground where he would have had a distinct advantage over his opponent and despite great success with his leg kicks he was unable to catch his rhythm. Gabriel will return to training and be ready the next time his name is called!

UFC Heavyweight start Gabriel Gonzaga suffered a stinging defeat Sunday evening when he faced up and coming powerhouse Junior Dos Santos. This was a fight that would place the winner on the short list of title contenders and both fighters came in ready to bang. Gonzaga looked strong early and secured a takedown but fell victim to a left hook that dropped him to the mat where Dos Santos continued to throw punches until the referee was forced to stop the fight. Gonzaga is a top level veteran and knows what it will take to return to the top of the division!

Gabriel Gonzaga looked to be well on his way to finishing the less experienced Shane Carwin early in the first round as he blasted him with punches and took Carwin to the ground. Gonzaga showed his crisp technique and power as he appeared to be the better fighter until a short right hand from Carwin dropped him to the matt. Gabriel is disappointed in the loss but will return on his trek towards a championship!
